Madison Lyric Stage Announces Fundraiser Concert Starring Marc Deaton

By David Salazar

Tenor Marc Deaton will lead a major season fundraiser for the Madison Lyric Stage on April 6, 2019 at the Deacon John Grave House.

The concert, entitled “Spring Will Come Again – Songs of Hopes and Dreams,” will feature a wide range of music by American composers, Broadway hits, opera arias, and other popular classics by such composers as Barber, Bernstein, Rorem, Copland, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Sondheim. Deaton will be accompanied by pianist Keven Smith and cellist Silvio Interlandi.

Other guests in the concert include Joannie Brittingham and John Johmann.

“We are thrilled to be presenting our entire 2019 season inside the Deacon John Grave House, so it seems ideal that we host our fundraiser there” said Deaton, who is also artistic director of Madison Lyric Stage. “I’ll be presenting some of my favorite songs by American composers, and we will have a warm and intimate evening of food, drink and, most importantly, community.”

Madison Lyric Stage is set to present “Of Mice and Men” and “Into the Woods,” followed by “Hansel and Gretel.”
