Madison Lyric Stage Announces 2020 Season

The Madison Lyric Stage has announced its 2020 mainstage season which will include two operas and two musicals. For the purposes of this release, we will only concentrate on the two operas and one musical the season will offer.

This season the Madison Lyric Stage will continue its partnership with the Deacon John Grave House in the Madison historic district and will present its entire season inside and on the grounds of the historic home. Marc Deaton will direct every production.

Main Stage

The season opens with an intriguing double bill with Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” and Schoenberg’s “Erwartung.” Puccini’s work will be presented in Italian while the Schoenberg will be sung in English.

Performance Dates: March 26-29, 2020

The season concludes with “Sweeney Todd” in a new production. Casting for the Sondheim work will be announced at a later time.
