Madison Avenue Baptist Church Unveils 2024 MABC Emerging Artists

Per an official press release, the Emerging Artists include Haitian-American soprano Chantal Freeman, Pakistani-American soprano Samina Aslam, Russian-American soprano Anna Aistova, Scottish-American mezzo-soprano AddieRose Brown, Venezuelan-American tenor Andres Penalver, Chinese-American tenor Teddy Lei, and American baritone Blake Austin Brooks.
“We were thrilled to receive so many applications for our brand-new program and to see such a high level of interest. I hope this program will serve as a launchpad for the selected singers’ careers, providing them with quality training and performance opportunities. Our public music programs aim to serve the community by offering affordable access to world-class education and performances, while celebrating the core values of love and inclusion of the MABC. This is just the beginning of game-changing initiatives that will benefit the music industry,” said Aza Sydykov, MABC’s Minister of Music and Director of Education and Culture, per an official press release.
Fellows will receive an educational grant of $1,000 and perform as part of the Madison Sounds music series. The planned repertory includes Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, Coronation Mass in C major, Rutter’s “Gloria,” and a semi-staged production of Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin.”
