Yusif Eyvazov, Angel Villari, Marta Torbidoni & Ruth Iniesta Lead Macerata Opera Festival’s 2024 Season

The Macerata Opera Festival has announced its 2024 season, which will be dedicated to Giacomo Puccini and will celebrate its 60th anniversary.

The season will open with Puccini’s “Turandot” starring Olga Maslova (Turandot), Angelo Villari (Calaf), Ruth Iniesta (Liù), Antonio Di Matteo (Timur), Lodovico Filippo Ravizza (Ping), Paolo Antognetti (Pang), and Francesco Pittari (Pong). The opera will be performed with Puccini’s score only.

Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts.

Performance Dates: July 19-August 10, 2024

Bellini’s “Norma” will be conducted by Fabrizio Maria Carminati and will star Marta Torbidoni (Norma), Roberta Mantegna (Adalgisa), Antonio Poli (Pollione), and Riccardo Fassi (Oroveso).

Performance Dates: July 20-August 9, 2024

The final work of the season will be “La bohème” with Valerio Galli conducting and Mariangela Sicilia (Mimì), Yusif Eyvazov (Rodolfo), Mario Cassi (Marcello) and Daniela Cappiello (Musetta) starring.

Performance Date: July 27-August 11, 2024

There will also be ballet in the program. The company will present the world premiere of “Notte Morricone” in collaboration with la Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto, featuring choreography by Marcos Morau. The season will also include “Notte di Luna” and “Carmina Burana.”
