Eleonora Buratto, Nino Machaidze & Ruth Iniesta Lead Macerata Opera Festival’s 2023 Season

The Macerata Opera Festival has announced the operas for its 2023 season.

The administrative board of the Associazione Arena Sferisterio noted that the showcase will take place between July 20 and August 19, 2023.

The season opens with Bizet’s “Carmen” starring Ketevan Kemoklidze, Ragaa Eldin, Roberta Mantegna, and Fabrizio Beggi. DonatoRenzetti conducts the production Daniele Menghini.

Performance Dates: July 20-August 6, 2023

Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” star Ruth Iniesta, Dmitry Korchak, and Davide Luciano. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts the production by Jean-Louis Grinda.

Performance Dates: August 12-19, 2023

Verdi’s “La Traviata” will be conducted by Domenico Longo and directed by Henning Brockhaus. Nino Machaidze, Anthony Ciaramitaro, and Robert de Candia star.

Performance Dates: July 22-August 13, 2023

Messa di Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi will be conducted by Donato Renzetti and stars Eleonora Buratto, Clémentine Margaine, Antonio Poli, and Robert Tagliavini.

Performance Date: July 29, 2023

Last season the Macerata Opera Festival presented “Tosca,” “Pagliacci,” and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.” There will also be concerts with Zubin Mehta, Donato Renzetti, and Myung-Whun Chung.
