Lyric Opera of Kansas City Announces 2022-23 Season

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced its 65th season with four productions in the Kauffman Center.

The season opens with Bizet’s “Carmen,” one of the most popular operas in the repertoire.

Performance Dates: Sept. 24-Oct. 2 2022

Verdi’s “La Traviata” returns to the repertoire featuring some of the composer’s most famous pieces.

Performance Dates: Nov. 5-13, 2022

Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell’s “The Shining” premieres in Kansas City featuring music as haunting as the story.

Performance Dates: March 11-19, 2023

“Sondheim on Sondheim” will be performed. The work is an intimate portrait of the famed songwriter through his beloved songs and words and also features exclusive interviews interspersed among favorite songs.

Performance Dates: April 30 & May 7, 2023

Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” returns for the holiday season. Created in collaboration with master puppeteer Paul Mesner, the touching story will pull your heart and puppet strings.

Performance Dates: Dec. 2-11, 2022
