Lyric Opera of Chicago Welcomes Mary Stowell to Board of Directors

Mary Stowell is set to join the Board of Directors of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Stowell is a founding partner and was counsel of Stowell & Friedman, which focuses on civil and workers’ rights. She was also Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Northern Disstrict of Illinois.

Additionally, Stowell has been a Lyric Opera of Chicago subscriber since 1985 and a major supporter of the company. Her terms begins immediately.

“I have long admired Mary. Her deep legal expertise and her enduring support for Lyric make her an exceptional addition to our Board,” said Sylvia Neil, Board Chair, per an official press release. “Mary’s passion and intelligence will strengthen our work as a Board as we continue guiding Lyric’s growth and impact in the community.”
