
Lyric Opera of Chicago Announces ‘Sunday in the Park’ Concert
By David SalazarLyric Opera of Chicago is set to showcase “Sunday in the Park With Lyric” on Sept. 7, 2025.
The outdoor performance at Millennium Park will be led by Enrique Mazzola and Chi-Yuan Lin, the Lyric Opera’s Music Director and the Ryan Opera Center’s Conductor, respectively. The performance will feature highlights from the forthcoming 2025-26 season.
“After completing my debut season at Lyric, I’m excited to spend the summer in Chicago and join Sunday in the Park with Lyric for the first time,” said John Mangum, General Director, President & CEO of Lyric Opera of Chicago, in an official press release. “Every year, thousands of Chicagoans come together to share music under the stars — it’s a joyful tradition that connects us and celebrates the beginning of a new season.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and share a picnic with friends and family. Additionally, there will be drawings every 30 minutes, allowing audience members the opportunity to win tickets for upcoming performances at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
