
Lyric Opera of Chicago Announces New Member to Board of Directors
By David SalazarAnne M. Edwards has been elected to the Lyric Opera of Chicago Board of Directors.
Edwards, a Certified Public Accountant and former Controller of Lyric Opera of Chicago, was confirmed during the Board’s meeting on Oct. 15, 2025.,
Edwards commenced her career with KPMG in Chicago and New York before joining Bank of Boston.
“Anne Edwards brings a rare combination of professional insight and personal dedication to Lyric,” said Sylvia Neil, Board Chair of Lyric Opera of Chicago, per an official press release. “Her long-standing involvement, from her tenure as Controller to her leadership on the Women’s Board, exemplifies the deep commitment that strengthens our organization.”
Edwards has remained an active advocate for the arts and civic engagement in Chicago and currently serves as Vice President for Education on Lyric’s Women’s Board, where she previously chaired Membership. She is also a member of the Founders’ Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and contributed leadership to the most recent campaign for the University of Illinois Gies College of Business, her alma mater.
