Lyric Opera of Chicago Announces New Board Member

The Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced the unanimous election of Louise Bernard to the Board of Directors. She begins her term immediately.

“We are delighted to welcome Louise to our Board of Directors,” says Sylvia Neil, Board Chair, per an official press release issued by the company. “Her prodigious cultural expertise and deep commitment to education and civic engagement resonate with Lyric’s mission and we eagerly look forward to her contributions to the company.”

A West Yorkshire, England native, Bernard is currently leading the design, development, and operation of the Obama Presidential Center Museum on Chicago’s South Side. She also worked as director of exhibitions at the New York Public Library and also held positions at Ralph Applebaum Associates.

Lyric Opera of Chicago’s 2023-24 season continues with “Champion” starting on Jan. 27, 2024.
