Łukasz Borowicz Named Music Director of Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra

Łukasz Borowicz has been appointed new Music Director and Chief Conductor of Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra effective during the start of the 2021-22 season.

The conductor has worked extensively with the Poznań Philharmonic, having served as Chief Guest Conductor since 2006.

Borowicz has appeared as guest conductor with SWR Sinfonieorchester, Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, Hamburger Symphoniker, MDR Sinfonieorchester, Luzerner Symfonieorchester, Orchestre National de Lille, Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group, among others. He has also conducted extensively with all the major Polish symphonies.

Borowicz has over 100 albums to his name and has been awarded four Diapason d’Or prizes. He has worked with many renowned opera singers including Piotr Beczala, Francesco Meli, Ewa Podles, Mariusz Kwiecien, and Artur Rucinski, among others.
