Luglio Musicale Trapanese Announces 2023 Summer Season

The Luglio Musicale Trapanese has announced its 2023 summer season featuring opera, dance, and concerts. Here is a look at the vocal and operatic performances.

Special Event 

The season opens with the concerto “Uniti per la pace.” Sasha Yankevych conducts the evening with pianist Dmitry Shishkin and soprano Chiara Fiorani. 

Performance Date: June 16, 2023

Opera

Verdi’s “Macbeth” opens in a production by Massimo Pizzi Gasparon. Maestro Fabio Modica conducts a cast starring Serban Vasile, Alessandra Di Giorgio, Andrea Comelli, Saverio Pugliese, and Mauro Secci.

Performance Dates: July 7 & 9, 2023

Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” will be conducted by Daniele Agiman and directed by Danilo Coppola. The cast will include Kaneko Sayumi, Shengwu Ou, Ettore Ma, Mariano Orozco, Kaneko Sayumi, and Pierpaolo Martella.

Performance Dates: August 3 & 5, 2023

Puccini’s “La Bohème” will be directed by Renato Bonajuto and conducted by Maestro Carlo Goldstein. Desirée Rancatore leads the cast alongside Mario Rojas, Andrea Bonsignore, Francesca Benitez, Paolo Ingrasciotta, and Andrea Mastroni.

Performance Dates: August 20 & 22, 2023

The Chamber opera “Il ricordo che se ne ha” will be performed by Paola Biondi, Debora Brunialti, Paolo Fumagalli, and Edmondo Romano.

Performance Dates: Sept. 9 & 11, 2023

Concerts

The Teatro Giuseppe Di Stefano will showcase winners of the Concorso Lirico Internazionale “Giuseppe Di Stefano” and the winner of the Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Pianistica “Domenico Scarlatti.” The program features music by Bellini, Leoncavallo, Puccini, Rachmaninov, and Verdi under teh direction of Maestro Samuele Galeano.

Andrea Mastroni performs Schubert’s “Winterreise” alongside Mattia Ometto.

Performance Date: August 4, 2023
