The Department of Music from the University of North Carolina has announced that baritone Lucas Meachem will be its forthcoming  Artist in Residence.

The University announced that from Feb. 24 through March 1, 2019 Meachem will spend a week coaching students privately and in public masterclasses.

MeachEm is one of today’s most exciting baritones. He recently made three highly anticipated North American house debuts with Washington National Opera and Michigan Opera Theatre.

In addition to those debuts, Meachem returned to the Metropolitan Opera for “La Bohème” and is set to make his staged role debut as Robert in Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta” next month. He finishes his season with a debut recital at Carolina Performing Arts in North Carolina.

He also makes his highly anticipated Canadian Opera Company debut in “La Bohème.”
