On June 10, Luca Salsi will begin a series of performances of “Macbeth.”

The baritone will first sing the title role at the Wiener Staatsoper in a production by Barrie Kosky and will be joined by Anna Netrebko, Freddie de Tommaso, and Roberto Tagliavini. He will reprise the role in Vienna in January alongside Martina Serafin.

In September, Salsi will open the Lyric Opera of Chicago in a production by David McVicar. Salsi will star alongside Sondra Radvanovsky, Christian Van Horn, and Joshua Guerrero.

Finally, on Dec. 7 the baritone will open the Teatro alla Scala’s season with a new production of the opera in a new production by Davide Livermore. Salsi will perform alongside Netrebko, Francesco Meli and Ildar Abdrazakov. Riccardo Chailly will conduct.

The production will reunite Meli, Netrebko, Chailly, and Livermore after opening the 2019-20 season in a production of “Tocsa.”
