Luca Salsi Receives Cappuccilli Award

Luca Salsi has been awarded the Pietro Cappuccilli Award.

The baritone received the award by Patrizia Cappuccilli, daughter of the great baritone, together with our CEO Dominique Meyer and Maestro Riccardo Chailly at the end of the last performance of “Macbeth.”

Salsi is one of the great baritones of his generation and has opened the Teatro alla Scala’s season four times. He is set to perform the title role of “Macbeth” at the Wiener Staatsoper, “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Teatro alla Scala, “Otello” at the Bayerische Staatsoper, “Nabucco” at the Teatro Real, and “Aida” at the Salzburg Festival.

Piero Cappuccilli was a great Italian operatic baritone who was best known for his interpretations of Verdi roles. He performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Paris Opera, among others.
