Luca Salsi, Francesco Meli & Alex Esposito to Present Recitals at Teatro la Fenice

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro la Fenice is set to present two recitals with some of the world’s greatest male voices in opera.

On July 22, Alex Esposito will perform a program with arias from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and “Le Nozze di Figaro,” Verdi’s “Macbeth,” “Simon Boccanegra,” and “Don Carlo,” Gounod’s “Faust,” Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust,” Boito’s Mefistofele,” and Offenbach’s “Les Contes de Hoffmann.”

The second recital, on July 23, will star Francesco Meli and Luca Salsi. The recital will be dedicated to the music of Verdi and will feature passages from “Don Carlo,” “La Forza del Destino,” and “Otello.” Davide Cavalli will accompany on piano; he will also be performing music by Liszt.

The concerts follow the theater’s acclaimed production of “Ottone in Villa,” which marked the return of opera to the famed theater following the pandemic.
