Luca Salsi, Eleonora Buratto & Davinia Rodriguez Highlight Festival Verdi 2020

The Festival Verdi has announced its 2020 program featuring three new productions and one concert performance.

Here is a look:

Verdi and Solera’s “I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata” will feature Marco Ciaponi, Michele Pertusi, Yolanda Auyanet, and Jean-Francois Borras. Daniele Callegari will conduct the production by Hugo de Ana.

Performance Dates: Sept. 24-Oct. 17, 2020

Verdi and Piave’s “Rigoletto” will be interpreted in collaboration with the  58° Concorso Internazionale, Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto e dell’Accademia Verdiana. Alessandro Palumbo will conduct the production by Pier Francesco Maestrini.

Performance Dates: Sept. 25-Oct. 18, 2020

The festival will present the French version of Verdi’s and Piave’s “Macbeth.” The translation by Charles Louis Étienne Nuitter and Alexandre Beaumont will spotlight Dimitri Platanias, Davinia Rodriguez, Riccardo Zanellato, and Giorgio Berrugi. Roberto Abbado will conduct the production by Yannis Kokkos.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26, October 1, 7 & 16, 2020

Roberto Aronica, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Roberto Tagliavini, and Eleonora Buratto star in a concert performance of Verdi’s and Piave’s “Ernani” with Michele Mariotti conducting.

Performance Dates: Oct. 4 & 9, 2020

The “Mezzogiorno in Musica” will showcase young singers in concert performances.

Performance Dates: October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 & 18, 2020

Baritone Luca Salsi will give a recital featuring music from Verdi, Liszt and  Martucci. Milo Martani will be at the piano.

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2020

Verdi’s “Messa di Requiem” will feature the Choir del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Choir del Teatro Regio di Parma.

Performance Dates: Oct. 11 & 15, 2020

The Beneficial Lyrical Gala “Fuoco di Gioia” will feature a number of soloists.

Performance date: Oct. 14, 2020
