Luca Salsi Awarded Cavaliere di Verdi

Luca Salsi has been awarded the Cavaliere di Verdi by the Club dei 27.

The baritone shared the news via social media. According to a statement by the organization he was awarded the prize for “Excellent interpreter of the Verdian repertoire, He brought to the world stage the roles most loved by the Maestro, from ‘Nabucco’ to ‘Falstaff,’ from Rigoletto to Conte di Luna, from Don Carlo di Vargas to Rodrigo di Posa, collecting unanimous consensus everywhere.”

The statement concluded by stating Salsi is “a baritone of rare intensity and lively passion, today he is a sure reference and ambassador of Verdi.”

Salsi is in the midst of performing a run of “I Due Foscari” at the Teatro La Fenice and is set to open the Teatro alla Scala in a new production of “Don Carlo.” He recently performed the role of “Macbeth” at the Berlin State Opera.
