Loveland Opera Theatre To Present New Concept For ‘Cosi Fan Tutte’

By Francisco Salazar
Loveland Opera Theatre is set to present “Così fan tutte – A School for Lovers” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The production will be presented at the Rialto Theater in downtown Loveland with a concept based on seven impressionistic paintings. The landscape of each picture will be projected onto a screen, serving as the backdrop. Complete with hand-made, period-specific costumes, the characters complete the 3D rendering of the painting as they perform each scene.
In a press release, Dr. Juliana Bishop Hoch, executive and artistic director of Loveland Opera Theatre said “Loveland Opera Theatre is a traditional, classical and family-oriented opera company and we are proud to continue our tradition of bringing operatic storytelling to life in unique ways. The Così experience – from the unique set design, handmade custom costumes and local Colorado performers – blends the beauty of opera and impressionism creatively and engagingly. This is our own version of the Pageant of the Masters production held in Laguna Beach, Calif. every year and we are thrilled to bring this concept to our exceptional art community here in Loveland.”
The production will be directed by Timothy Kennedy and conducted by Adam Torres.

The opera is set to be presented on Feb. 22 through March 3, 2019.
