Louise Alder & Federica Lombardi Headline Wiener Staatsoper’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ Stream

On Feb. 1, the Wiener Staatsoper is set to broadcast Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The live performance will be performed without an audience and will star Andrè Schuen as Count Almaviva, Federica Lombardi as Countess Almaviva, Louise Alder as Susanna, Philippe Sly as Figaro, and Virginie Verrez as Cherubino.

The performance will be conducted by Philippe Jordan in a production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle.

Audiences can view “Le Nozze di Figaro first on the Wiener Staatsoper’s streaming platform and on my Fidelio on Feb. 1 and then on ORF III on Feb 21.

The live stream is the latest in a series of performances transmitted live to audiences world wide; other similar showcases include “Der Rosenkavalier,” Tosca,” “Werther,” and “Nabucco.” The Wiener Staatsoper is currently planning to present a new production of “Carmen” on Feb. 7 starring Anita Rachvelishvili.
