By Francisco Salazar

Louise Alder has canceled the Opening Night Gala performance with the London Mozart Players.

The company said via social media, “Sadly Louise Alder is indisposed and won’t be able to perform tonight Fairfield Halls but we are thrilled that Elizabeth Watts is stepping in to perform two glorious Mozart arias with Jane Glover conducting.”

Watts is a rising star who has performed all around the world and is a major recitalist and concert performer. This season she is scheduled to perform at Wigmore Hall, Symphony Hall, The Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, and Philharmonic Hall.

The opening night gala concert will also include Beethoven’s Symphony No.7, Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1, and Woolf’s Farfield Fanfare. Alder is currently performing in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Royal Opera House and is scheduled to perform on Sept. 19, 2019.
