Los Angeles Opera to Live Stream Opening Performance of ‘Otello’

The Los Angeles Opera is set to present a free live broadcast for the opening performance of Verdi’s “Otello.”

The company will showcase the famed opera on May 13, 2023 at the Santa Monica Pier and CSU Dominguez Hills. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. at both location with the opera set to kick off two hours later.

There will be on-site food trucks for audiences looking to enjoy their opera with a meal; audiences can also pack their own picnic for the occasion.

The opera will star Russell Thomas in the title role alongside Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Desdemona, and Igor Golovatenko as Iago. Other cast members include Sara Saturnino, Morris Robinson, Anthony León, and Alan Williams. James Conlon conducts the performance.
