Los Angeles Master Chorale has announced that Scott Altman has been appointed to the role of President and CEO.

He will take over for Jean Davidson who left the company in March 2023 to become the Executive Director of the National Symphony Orchestra. Altman will take over his position on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

Altman was previously the Cincinnati Ballet President and CEO since 2016 and led the company through the construction of the Cincinnati Ballet Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance while tripling the asset growth to $75 million. He also implemented record-breaking operating budgets and gave the organization a new brand and image. He also enjoyed a career as an opera singer and was also the General Director of Arizona Opera and Opera New Jersey.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Los Angeles Master Chorale at this exciting time,” said Altman in an official press statement issued by the company. “I am especially looking forward to partnering with Artistic Director Grant Gershon to continue elevating the Master Chorale’s legacy, broad community impact and inspired artistry, not just in Los Angeles, but across the nation and around the world. My very beginnings are rooted in choral music as a youngster, so this opportunity feels like a homecoming. I am overjoyed to be a part of the Master Chorale’s exciting future.”
