The Longborough Festival Opera has announced that it will be working alongside the Academy of Ancient Music for its 2020 production of “The Return of Ulysses.”

The production of the Monteverdi Opera is due for performances between July 14-21, 2020 and will feature Tom Randle in the title role of the legendary hero. Robert Howarth will conduct the production, which will be the directorial debut of Polly Graham, Longborough’s Artistic Director.

“I am so thrilled that Longborough is joining forces with the Academy of Ancient Music. They are musicians of the highest calibre and they have worked with our conductor Rob Howarth on many occasions. I cannot wait to create our new production of ‘The Return of Ulysses’ with them as a part of the creative team in 2020,” Graham noted in a press release.

Longborough Festival Opera’s 2020 season will also include performances of “Die Walküre,” “L’Elisir d’Amore,” and “The Cunning Little Vixen.”
