Longborough Festival Opera Announces 2020 Season

The Longborough Festival Opera has announced its 2020 season.

Following Longborough’s acclaimed “Das Rheingold,” the company continues its presentation of Wagner’s Ring with “Die Walküre,” conducted by Longborough’s Music Director Anthony Negus and directed by Amy Lane. The cast is set to include Mark Le Brocq, Sarah Marie Kramer, Paul Carey Jones, Madeleine Shaw, Lee Bisset, and Julian Close.

Performance Dates: June 4 – 13, 2020

Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” will star Jung Soo Yun, Emyr Wyn Jones, Robyn Allegra Parton, and Marcus Farnsworth. Alice Farnham will conduct Cal McCrystal’s production.

Performance Dates: June 25 – July 4, 2020

Tom Randle, Lucia Cervoni, Rosie Lomas Large, Ben Johnson, Sophie Goldrick, Francesca Chiejina, Andrew Irwin, Matthew Buswell, Alex Sprague, Llio Evans, Oliver Brignal, and Daniel Auchincloss star in Monteverdi’s “Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria.” Polly Graham directs the production with Robert Howarth conducting.

Performance Dates: July 14 – 21, 2020

Janacek’s “The Cunning Little Vixen” will feature Julieth Lozano, Kieran Rayner, Frances Gregory, Aaron Holmes, David Howes, Gabriel Seawright, Edmund Caird, Rozanna Madylus, Lucy Mellors, Laurence Panter, Caroline Taylor, Mimi Doulton, Emma Charles, Emily Kyte, and  Joanna Harries. The opera will be conducted by Justin Brown, the current Music Director of Karlsruhe State Theatre, and directed by Olivia Fuchs.
