Long Beach Opera’s 2020 Season To Feature Lots of Premieres

The Long Beach Opera has unveiled its 2020 season, which will feature four operas in total.

The season kicks off with a new version of Henry Purcell’s “King Arthur” in a production by Andrea Mitisek. The performance is set to take place at the Beverly O’Neill Theater.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12, 18, 19, 2020 

Next up is the LA Premiere of “The Lighthouse” by Peter Maxwell Davies. That production will be showcased at the Pacific Visions Theater at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Performance Dates: March 21, 22, 28, 29, 2020

 The U.S. Premiere of “Billy the Kid” will take place in May at the Sunnyside Cemetery in an outdoor production.

Performance Dates: May 3,8, 9,10, 2020

The Long Beach Opera closes out its season with “Frida” by Robert X. Rodriguez at the Museum of Latin American Art. Catalina Cuervo stars in the title role.

Performance Dates: June 20, 21, 27, 28, 2020
