Long Beach Opera to Honor Artistic Director With ‘The Best of 20’ Showcase

On June 2, 2018, the Long Beach Opera will hold a concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Artistic Director Andreas Mitisek.

The concert, entitled “The Best of 20” will feature scenes from over 60 of the director’s best productions for the company.

Mitisek became the company’s principal conductor in 1998 and then went on to take his current title in 2003. Additionally, he has worked with the company as a producer, conductor, and director.

In addition to his successful tenure with Long Beach Opera, Mitisek has also served as Artistic and General Director with the Chicago Opera Theater. He held that position between 2012-17.

He also served on the Board of Directors for OPERA AMERICA and was honored by such organizations as The Chicago Tribune, Opera News, The Chicago Reader, the LA Times Magazine, and LA WEEKLY.

“The Best of 20” will be featured on two occasions on the second with one concert taking place at 3:30 p.m. local time and a latter showing at 8 p.m. local time.
