The Lombardi-Tiezzi Company, with the collaboration of the Community of San Leolino, will present Mario Luzi’s  “Pontormo Felicità Turbate” by Mario Luzi on June 6, 2024.

The showcase was created with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di San Miniato Foundation and features Sandro Lombardi, Debora Zuin, David Riondino, Annibale Pavone, Francesca Della Monica, and Valentina Elia as the vocal soloists. They are accompanied by the string quartet of the Orchestra Sinfonica Florentina.

The work originally premiered in 1995 at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. It was recently presented at the Certosa di Firenza in October 2023.

“About thirty years after that show was staged,” said Sandro Lombardi, one of the vocal soloists, per an official press release, “today, in these even more restless and shady times, we want to propose again this sort of portrait of the artist as an old man which restores life and emotions to a lost genius, allows a reflection on the painful enigmas and flashes of artistic creation and, at the same time, casts a merciless gaze on the encounter-clash between this and political power.”
