Liv Redpath, Tamara Wilson, Eric Owens, Julia Bullock, Lucy Crowe Headline The Cleveland Orchestra’s 2022-23 Season

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its 2022-23 season.

For the purposes of this article, we will focus on vocal and operatic performances.

The season opens with Mahler’s Second Symphony conducted by Franz Welser-Möst. Lauren Snouffer and Marie-Nicole Lemieux will be the soloists.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29 & 30, 2022

John Adams will conduct a performance of his very own “El Niño” with Julia Bullock, Josefina Maldonado, Daniel Bubeck, Davóne Tines, Brian Cummings, and Nathan Medley as the soloists.

Performance Dates: Nov. 17 – 19, 2022 

Brett Mitchell will lead a Holiday Festival throughout December.

Performance Dates: Dec. 8-18, 2022

The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus will perform the soundtrack to “Home Alone” in concert.

Performance Dates: Dec. 14, 2022 

Soprano Liv Redpath and baritone Justin Austin will make their company debuts in a concert that features music by Nielsen, Haydn, and Oliverio. Alan Gilbert conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 5 & 7, 2023

Franz Welser-Möst will conduct music by Schubert and Berg with such soloists as Joélle Harvey, Daryl Freedman, Julian Preegardien, Martin Mitterrutzner, and Dashon Burton.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12-14, 2023 

Franz Welser-Möst will lead Mozart’s Requiem with Siobhan Stagg, Avery Amereau, Ben Bliss, and Anthony Schneider as the soloists. The concert will also include music by Staud.

Performance Dates: March 9 -12, 2023

Soprano Lucy Crowe, in her company debut, will headline a concert dedicated to the music of Mozart. Bernard Labadie conducts.

Performance Dates: April 20 -23, 2023 

The season comes to a close with concert performances of “La Fanciula del West” starring Tamara Wilson, Eric Owens, and Fabio Sartori. Franz Welser-Möst will conduct.

Performance Dates: May 14 – 20, 2023
