Little Opera has announced that it will be bringing youth arts programming to the Grace Cathedral starting this fall.

Per a press release, the company, which is based in San Francisco, will offer students grades K-8 the opportunity to go to the Grace Cathedral after school to write and perform their own original opera. This new partnership will kick off on Sept. 9, 2019 with enrollment open to all students that are interested in participating.

“We’re not just teaching the art forms of writing, composing, singing and acting,” stated librettist Erin Bregman, who has worked with San Francisco Youth over the last eight years. “We’re also teaching our students about collaboration, and what it means to take on a giant, ambitious project as part of a community.”

The Little Opera recently ended its season with four mini-operas, all created by students.
