Lisette Oropesa made history during the Feb. 10, 2026 performance of “I Masnadieri” at the Teatro Real.

Following her cabaletta “Carlo vive? O caro accento, melodia di paradiso,” the soprano received a rousing ovation that led to an encore of the aria.

The moment marks the third time the soprano gives an encore in an opera at the Teatro Real.

In 2018, alongside five other singers, she encored the sextet from “Lucia di Lammermoor,” and in 2020 Oropesa gave audiences an encore of “Addio del passato” from Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

“I Masnadieri” is currently being performed in concert and also stars Piero Preti, Nicola Alaimo, and Alexander Vinogradov. Francesco Lanzillotta is conducting with the final performance set to for Feb. 14, 2026.
