Lisette Oropesa Cancels Performance at Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot

Lisette Oropesa has canceled her performance at the Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot in Burgundy on June 19.

The soprano took to social media and said, “I’m devastated not to be able to return to my beloved Burgundy this year after an incredible 10-year relationship with the Festival Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot. Sadly, I’m still quite unwell with Covid and need to focus on recovery before traveling to sing…It really breaks my heart, as this festival and region, its people, and its wine, have become an incredibly treasured part of our lives. We’ve made lifelong friends and had spectacular experiences. Let’s hope next year we can meet again, under better circumstances. In the meantime, I raise a glass to your good health!”

The cancelation comes after the soprano was forced to cancel the final performance of “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Opernhaus Zürich due to COVID-19.

Oropesa returns to the stage on June 28 and July 1 for “La Traviata” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
