By Francisco Salazar

Lisette Oropesa has canceled her upcoming Helinski recital.

The soprano took to social media to announce the news stating, “Please note the May 24th concert in Helsinki will be rescheduled. Sadly, due to illness, I’m not able to perform on Sunday. I’m so sorry to everyone who was planning to be there.”

Oropesa was set to perform alongside pianist Alessandro Praticò in music from Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti.

She next performs at the Royal Opera House in a production of “I Puritani” which opens June 30.  She also returns to the Savonlinna Festival for her role debut as “Norma.”
