Lise Davidsen, Gerald Finley, & Huw Montague Rendall Among Gramophone Classical Award Winners

The Gramophone Classical Music Awards has announced its 2025 awards.

Here is a look at the vocal awards:

The Recording of the Year award went to BACH’s Mass in B minor – Pygmalion, Raphaël Pichon, while the Artist of the Year went to Sir Simon Rattle. Sir

Thomas Allen won the Lifetime Achievement, while the Choral also went to BACH’s Mass in B minor – Pygmalion, Raphaël Pichon.

The contemporary work went to Benjamin’s “Picture a Day Like This” with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and George Benjamin. The opera recording went to Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer” with Lise Davidsen, Gerald Finley, the Norwegian National Opera, and Edward Gardner.

The Song album went to “SONGS FOR PETER PEARS” with Robin Tritschler (tenor), Malcolm Martineau (piano), Sean Shibe (guitar), and Philip Higham (cello).

The Voice and Ensemble went to “Contemplation” with Huw Montague Rendall (baritone), Opéra Orchestre Normandie Rouen, and Ben Glassberg.
