The Summer Night Concert has announced its 2024 edition, set for June 7, 2024.

The concert will be conducted by Maestro Andris Nelsons and will feature Norwegian opera singer and recitalist Lise Davidsen. The program will include arias from Richard Wagner’s “Tannhäuser” and Giuseppe Verdi’s “La forza del destino.”

This year’s concert will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series which began in 2004.

Additionally, the focus of this year’s program is on popular works from the 19th and 20th centuries that highlight Europe’s rich musical heritage. The bicentennial of the prominent Czech composer Bedřich Smetana will be celebrated with three compositions.

For those not in Vienna for the evening ORF will broadcast the concert time-delayed beginning at 9.20 P.M. on ORF 2. Then 3sat will broadcast the concert time-delayed on June 7 beginning at 9.45 P.M.
