
Lincoln Center Theater, in Collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera, Will Present ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’ with Joyce DiDonato
By Francisco SalazarThe Lincoln Center Theater has announced that it will present Gian Carlo Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” during the 2025-26 season.
The opera will start previews on Dec. 16, and it will star Joyce DiDonato. This will mark the first seasonal family offering in LCT history and will be presented in association with The Metropolitan Opera.
The work will be directed by acclaimed Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon, and it will bring a fresh and acoustically intimate take on the classic, capturing every aching emotion in composer Gian Carlo Menotti’s score.
The work will be shown for a total of 23 performances.
Next season, DiDonato will star in the Met’s production of “Innocence.” She will also perform the world premiere of Kevin Puts’ “House of Tomorrow.”
