Lincoln Center and Young People’s Chorus of New York City to Honor COVID Victims in Upcoming Video

By Logan Martell

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Young People’s Chorus of New York City have partnered to pay tribute to those who lost their lives due to COVID-19.

On March 14, the two organizations will release a video of the children’s chorus singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Carousel.” Available on Lincoln Center’s Facebook, YouTube, and Lincoln Center at Home pages, the video comes on the anniversary of the first COVID-related death to occur in New York City.

Founded three decades ago by Francisco Nunez, the YCP has brought music education and performance opportunities to countless children of all backgrounds. Since the quarantine began, they have created an online curriculum which has reached 2,000 children in NYC schools, as well as commissioned and recorded about 50 pieces of audio and video performances.
