Light Opera Of New Jersey has rescheduled its production of Puccini’s “La Bohème” due to the recent spike in COVID-19.

The production, which was set to be performed in late February and early March, will now open on March 19, with additional dates on March 20, 25, and 26; all performances will take place at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center with another at the South Orange Performing Arts Center set for March 27, 2022.

The cast will star Molly Dunn and Anna Woiwood as Mimì; Frederick Schlick and David Smolokoff as Rodolfo; Gina Hanzlik and Veronica Shea as Musetta; Jason Detwiler as Marcelo; Talan Kim as Schaunard; Ronald Campbell as Colline; and Steven Fredericks as Alcindoro.

Andrea DelGiudice will direct a modern adaptation, set in New York City, and Jason C. Tramm will conduct the New Jersey Light Opera Chamber Orchestra.

“To bring Puccini’s great masterpiece to life in a new modern adaptation, under the direction of Andrea DelGiudice, I am delighted to be collaborating with these talented professional artists and of course thrilled to take the stage for our first post-pandemic production,” said Tramm in an official press release.
