Les Voix des Forges Announces 2024 Festival Programming ‘L’Amour est un Oiseau Rebelle’

France’s Les Voix des Forges has announced its programming for the summer of 2024 at the Festival de Musique Forges de Jaegerthal.

The season opens with “L’Amur est un oiseau rebelle” will feature works by Verdi, Puccini, Bernstein, Bizet, and Gounod among others. Vocal performers include Camille Tresmontant, Guillaume Paire, Céline Mellon, Alexandra Hewson, Carole Meyer, and
Rémi Ortega. They are accompanied by pianists Laetitia Ruccolo and Virginie Dejos.

Performance Date: July 5, 2024

Then comes a stripped-down adaptation of “Rigoletto” by La Chambre à Airs.” Rémi Studer directs a cast starring Camille Tresmontant as the Duke, Céline Mellon as Gilda, and Belinda Kunz as both Sparafucile and Maddalena. The singer interpreting the title role will be announced at a later date. The arrangement features the Quatuor Adastra and a trio of winds.

Performance Date: July 7, 2024

The big production of the festival is “Carmen.” Jean-Philippe Giulois directs a production starring Marie-Elizabeth Seager in the title role alongside Gabriel Courvoiser as Don José, Céline Mellon as Micaëla, and Damien Gastl as Escamillo, among others. Virginie Dejos conducts La Philharmonie de Poche. Laetitia Ruccolo is the pianist for the production which also features the vocal talents of Guillaume Piare, Alexandra Hewson, Carole Meyer, Rémi Ortega, and Alexandre Sigrist.

Performance Date: July 10 – 13, 2024
