Leo Nucci Cancels ‘Luisa Miller’ At Liceu
By Francisco SalazarLeo Nucci has canceled his participation in the upcoming revival of “Luisa Miller” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
The theater announced that due to personal reasons the legendary baritone would not be able to perform the role. As a result, Michael Chioldi and Juan Jesús Rodríguez will replace the baritone.
Chioldi is currently covering “Rigoletto” and “Tosca’ at the Metropolitan Opera while Rodríguez is currently at the Metropolitan Opera performing in “Falstaff.”
The Gran Teatre del Liceu’s production of “Luisa Miller” will star Sondra Radvanovsky and Eleonora Buratto in the title role, Piotr Beczala, and Arturo Chacón Cruz as Rodolfo, and Dmitry Belosselskiy and Carlo Colombara as Count Walter.
Domingo Hindoyan will conduct the production which returns for the first time since 2008.
