By Francisco Salazar

On Dec. 10, 2018, Edita Gruberova continued her farewell tour at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

The soprano, who is about to celebrate her 51st year on the stage, said farewell at the locale where she debuted 38 years ago in her highly acclaimed “Lucia di Lammermoor.” The concert was also her farewell to Berlin, where she has performed in numerous theaters and with numerous orchestras.

The program included arias from Rossini, Wagner, Donizetti, and Bellini.

Gruberova is set to continue her tour throughout Europe, where she will perform in Frankfurt, Bratislava, and Audimax among other cities. She is also scheduled to sing two opera productions. First, she will return to the Hungarian State Opera for “Lucia di Lammermoor” and then she will sing her signature Elisabetta in “Roberto Devereux” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

More dates and concerts will be scheduled in the following months.
