By David Salazar

Tenors Lawrence Brownlee and Michael Spyres will bring their famed “Amici e Rivali” program to the 92Y in New York City on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021.

The showcase will feature music from “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Riccardo e Zoraide,” “Elisabetta Regina d’Inghilterra,” “Otello,” “Armida,” and “Le Siege de Corinthe,” among other bel canto gems.

The showcase will be accompanied by pianist Myra Huang.

The concert is based on the two tenors’ own album “Amici e Rivali,” which was distributed by Warner Classics. That album also features performances by Tara Erraught and Xavier Anduaga.

Those unable to attend the performance will get a chance to stream it online via 92Y’s own platform.  Audience members must show proof of vaccination in order to attend the performance. Moreover, everyone over the age of two in attendance must wear a mask at all times.
