Lawrence Brownlee, Jennifer Johnson Cano & Kyle Albertson Lead Opera Roanoke’s 2021-22 Season

Opera Roanoke in Virginia has announced its 2021-22 season, which will feature three unique productions.

The season opens with a production of Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle” starring Kyle Albertson and Jennifer Johnson Cano as Bluebeard and Judith, respectively. Steven White conducts the masterwork, which will be the American premiere of the chamber orchestra version by Eberhard Kloke.

Performance Dates: Nov. 5 & 7, 2021

Terrance Hayes and Lawrence Brownlee’s “Cycles of My Being” will get a performance this Spring at the Shaftman Hall at Jefferson Center.

Performance Dates: April 24, 2022

Steven White conducts Verdi’s Requiem. The soloists for the run of performances include soprano Amy Cofield, mezzo-soprano Dana Beth Miller, tenor Dinyar Vania, and bass Kevin Thompson.
