Lawrence Brownlee Dedicates ‘Amazing Grace’ to Two Mentors

By Francisco Salazar

Lawrence Brownlee has released a video of “Amazing Grace” dedicated to the memory of Luca Tragetti and Everett McCollum.

The performance is a part of Lincoln Center’s new #HumanityInConcert initiative, in which artists of all kinds post their own tribute or dedication, using the hashtag #HumanityInConcert, to come together to honor shared humanity.

In a statement the tenor said, “Dedicating this to two mentors who sadly passed away due to the coronavirus, and also the healthcare workers who are making sacrifices to help others.”

Tragetti passed away in March at the age of 66. He was a famed casting director at the Teatro alla Scala and was responsible for the creation of InArt Managment which manages the careers of Lisette Oropesa, Leah Crocetto, Corinne Winters, Luca Salsi, J’nai Bridges, Francesco Meli, and Brian Jagde.

McCollum was a pianist from Youngstown, Ohio, and was school system administrator and music educator.
