Lawrence Brownlee & Carl Tanner Featured In North Carolina Opera’s 2019-20 Season

Four productions will headline the North Carolina Opera’s 2019-20 season.

The company will open its 2019-20 season opens with a concert performance of the third act of Wagner’s “Siegfried.” Timothy Myers returns to conduct the NCO Orchestra with a stellar cast featuring Richard Cox in the title role and soprano Alexandra LoBianco as Brünnhilde.

Performance Dates: Nov. 10, 2019

Carl Tanner leads Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” with Melinda Whittington, Takaoki Onishi, and the NCO Orchestra and chorus all conducted by Keitaro Harada.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-26, 2020

Superstar tenor Lawrence Brownlee brings a recital program to the company, including  Schumann’s complete song cycle Dichterliebe.

Performance Date: Feb. 18, 2020

Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” closes out the season with David Paul directing the production and Joseph Mechavich conducting in his NCO debut.  Eric Ferring, Madison Leonard, and Rainelle Krause star. 

Performance Dates: April 3-5, 2020
