Laurent Pelly’s ‘Cendrillon’ Headed to Taiwan’s National Taichung Theater

The National Taichung Theater is set to present Massenet’s “Cendrillon” this December.

The production by Laurent Pelly will be conducted by Chin-Chao Lin. The opera features two casts. The central role of Cendrillon will be shared by I-Chiao Shih and Anne-Lise Polchlopek and the role of Prince Charmant will be split between Jo-Pei Weng and Jelena Kordić. Other cast members include Judith Speisser and Li Chin Huang as La Fée as well as Lai Chueh-yu, Yu Hsin Wang, Julian Lo, Fang-Hao Chao, Chen Han Wei, Chaung Yun-ray, Chi-An Chen, and Ing-Jie Wen.

The performances are scheduled for Dec. 14-17, 2023.

The Pelly productions previously premiered at the Royal Opera House and Metropolitan Opera.
