
Latonia Moore Takes on New Leadership Role at ArtSmart
By David SalazarArtSmart has announced that American soprano Latonia Moore is the organization’s new Director of Engagement and Advocacy. The role is newly created for Moore.
Moore, a renowned soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Opera Australia, Houston Grand Opera, and The Dallas Opera, among others, has served on the ArtSmart Board of Directors since 2021.
In her new role as Director of Engagement and Advocacy, Moore will be a national ambassador for ArtSmart which focuses on amplifying ArtSmart’s mission of providing transformative one-on-one music mentorship to youth in under-resourced communities through public appearances, advocacy efforts, and community partnerships.
“Latonia Moore is a transformative artist and a passionate champion of the power of music to change lives,” said Ahmad Mayes, ArtSmart’s Executive Director. “As ArtSmart’s Director of Engagement and Advocacy, she will help us deepen our work in communities across the country, ensuring that more young people have the support needed to reach their full potential. Her impact extends far beyond the stage, and we are excited to have her join in this new and important role.”
Moore’s tenure begins immediately.
