Opera Italiana is in the Air and Founder and Music Director Alvise Casellati is set to host an outdoor concert at the Naumberg Bandshell in New York City’s Central Park on Sept. 24, 2024.

The special event is offered for free to the public with no tickets required.

The program for the evening will begin with the “Hymn of the Nations,” created by Giuseppe Verdi followed by music by Mascagni and Puccini in commemoration of the 100^th anniversary of the composer’s passing. There will also be music from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and a special surprise for those many listeners.

The concert will feature Latonia Moore, Kang Wang, and George Andguladze. Opera Italiana will also collaborate again with Juilliard’s Pre-College program and this year Isaac Thomas, a 12-year-old composer, will premiere his new piece “Echoes of the Land.”

Opera Italiana is in the Air was created in 2017 in Central Park, New York, following a conversation between Daniele Bodini, Chairman of the FIAC Foundation, and Alvise Casellati, Conductor and former Secretary of FIAC. Since then, it has showcased concerts in Central Park, Washinton, and Miami as well as in Italy: Naples, Milan, and Rome.
