Latonia Moore, Christine Goerke, Gabriella Reyes, Denyce Graves, Raehann Bryce-Davis, Reginald Smith, Jr. Headline Washington National Opera’s 2022-23 Season

The Washington National Opera has announced its 2022-23 season.

The season kicks off with Brenna Corner’s production of “Il Trovatore” starring Latonia Moore, Raehann Bryce-Davis, Gwyn Hughes Jones, Christopher Maltman, and Ryan Speedo Green. Michele Gamba conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct 22 – Nov. 7, 2022

 Next up is Strauss’ “Elektra” with Christine Goerke in the title role. The cast also stars Sara Jakubiak, Katarina Dalayman, Stefan Margita, and Ryan Speedo Green. Evan Rogister conducts a production by Francesca Zambello.

Performance Dates: Oct 29 – Nov. 12, 2022

Carlos Simon and Sandra Seaton’s “The Passion of Mary Cardwell Dawson” will star Denyce Graves. Kimille Howard directs.

Performance Dates: Jan. 20 & 22, 2023

Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson’s “Blue” will star Briana Hunter, Aaron Crouch, Kenneth Kellogg, Reginald Smith, Jr., and Ariana Wehr. Vimbayi Kaziboni and Johnathan Taylor Rush share conducting duties with Thompson directing.

Performance Dates: March 11-25, 2023

The season draws to a close with “La Bohème” as conducted by Alevtina Ioffe. The cast stars Gabriella Reyes, Jacqueline Echols, Migran Agadzhanyan, Gihoon Kim, Blake Denson, and Peixin Chen.

Performance Dates: May 13-27, 2023
