Latonia Moore, Andrea Carroll, Tamara Wilson, Fatma Saïd Headline Cleveland Orchestra’s 2021-22 Season

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its 2021-22 season.

For the purposes of this performance, our focus will be mainly on operatic and vocal performances.

It all starts with Andrea Carroll’s Severance Hall debut alongside bass-baritone Dashon Burton as the two perform a two-piano arrangement of Brahms’ “Ein Deutsches Requiem.” Lisa Wong conducts the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus.

Performance Date: Oct. 28, 2021

Capathia Jenkins headlines a holiday program that is yet to be announced. Brett Mitchell conducts the Cleveland Chorus and Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Dec. 9 -19, 2021

Fatma Saïd, in her Cleveland Orchestra debut, performs music by Connesson and Ravel in a performance conducted by Stéphane Denève.

Performance Dates: Feb. 17-19, 2022

The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus performs music by Zemlinsky and Mendelssohn. Franz Welser-Möst conducts.

Performance Dates: March 3-5, 2022 

Tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Mitsuko Uchida perform songs by Beethoven and Schubert’s “Schwanengesang.”

Performance Dates: March 6, 2022

Franz Welser-Möst leads a concert performance of Verdi’s “Otello” starring Michael König, Tamara Wilson, Christopher Maltman, Pene Pati, Jennifer Johnson Cano, the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and the Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus.

Performance Dates: May 21-29, 2022

Soprano Latonia Moore performs music by Walkter, Guabaidulina, and Reinvere. Welser-Möst conducts.

Performance Date: May 27, 2022
